Memories of being bullied still haunted me and uploading this video reminded me of being exposed to the masses all over again. It seemed like it took forever waiting for feedback on my videos. I needn't have worried though, the reaction was fantastic and I made a lot of new friends. This encouraged me to keep uploading videos and I am ever thankful for the support from those who watch. Because of this I plucked up the courage to start talking in my videos and began taking requests from people to recreate celebrity looks. Somebody requested the Leona Lewis look from her video Bleeding Love so I thought why not and gave it a go. I uploaded my inspired version of this video look and thought nothing of it.
Watch the Leona Lewis video!
What happened next is something that stills shocks me now. The views seemed to climb by the thousands each day and it didn't take long before people had watched my video a million times. When it hit two million and then three million I was blown away.
TV crews, newspapers and magazines were all calling at my door to interview me.
Barry M cosmetics offered me an opportunity to work with them and create video for their website. YouTube contacted me and asked if I would like to be among the first people in the UK to be offered YouTube partner status. Google invited me to meet the Queen at their headquarters in London and the BBC started filming a documentary about me.
After being made a YouTube partner I was able to receive a share of the revenue generated from the advertising. This was probably just as well because I was finding it harder and harder to devote time to my little store selling cosmetics.
