And it began

I would spend hours everyday making videos, doing interviews and replying to all of the emails I was receiving. Then one day I received a message from some guy in New York asking me if I wanted to create my own make up line. At first I thought it was a joke but when they offered to fly me to Manhattan and meet with them I of course said yes. When I received the flight information the penny dropped that this was real and I ran down stairs screaming to tell my Mam all about it.

I had very rarely been outside my hometown let alone been abroad so I was quite nervous, especially since I hadn't been on a plane before.

New York was everything I expected and so much more. It has to be seen to be believed. No picture or review can capture the feeling of actually being there. I checked into the hotel that had been booked for me and then decided to do a little shopping before heading out to meet the people who were offering what seemed to be a dream come true.

I met with three businessmen in a nice restaurant and after introductions they started to tell me their plans for developing a make up line in my name. We all agreed and over the next six months we started work on the By Lauren Luke collection of five full-face palettes. All in all I made around 14 trips to New York to work on this and Manhattan was starting to feel like a second home

In between trips to NYC I continued to add to my ever-growing collection of videos. The attention from the press was still growing and I found myself doing more and more radio and TV as well as appearing in many editions of the leading press. I was also being invited to do lots of interviews in other countries especially in the USA.
It seemed everyone wanted to know about my story. The Guardian newspaper even offered me my own weekend beauty column, which I accepted.

I was approached by a lot of publishers to create a book and even had companies wanting to make video games with me in them.
